When I read these memories of how Kate felt working as a young model, her words resonated with me.

There were many shoots in the early days where I felt terribly uncomfortable,' Kate Moss recently told Reader’s Digest. Speaking about the pressure when she was young to pose nude for many photographers, she added that, ‘for a very young woman that could be incredibly intimidating.'  

When I read these memories of how Kate felt working as a young model, her words resonated with me.  ‘A million girls would kill for this job’ is an all too familiar line from The Devil Wears Prada, but it’s one which couldn’t be more true when it comes to how disposable you are as a model. I could feel Kate’s fear as a young girl being put in uncomfortable and uncompromising situations. Many models start young, usually between the ages of 14-17 years old, I was 16.  

Kate Moss rose to fame with her 1990 cover shoot with Corinne Day for The Face. She was 16 when the pictures were taken and she was topless. She hasn't said that this shoot specifically caused her distress, but as confident as the supermodel may seem, I don’t think any 16-year-old girl feels entirely comfortable being photographed topless whilst freezing cold. If Moss had said no to this or any of the other opportunities presented to her when she was starting out, she may have risked not being booked again.
